Note: This reservation deposit will allow us to reserve a spot for you in one of your selected programs. The deposit is NOT an additional charge and will be subtracted from your total program fee.

The deposit is completely refundable in the event that we cannot place you in one of your selected projects. If we are able to successfully place you in one of your selected project, you will receive a confirmation e-mail confirming your project placement and requesting the balance of your program fee. However, if we can place you and you are no longer able to participate, the reservation deposit is not refundable. 

We recommend that you purchase cancellation travel insurance before you place your deposit so in the event that something prevents you from traveling, your travel insurance provider can cover your losses if you decide to cancel your placement for unforeseen reasons.

You are allowed to change your program start date, duration or program choice one time without incurring an application revisions fee as long as the change is requested 90 days prior to the first of the month during which you are scheduled to begin your project. If you request more than one change to your project placement there is a $75 fee for each additional change. Changes related to your start date, program duration or program choice following the first of the month of the date you are scheduled to start your project will be billed at $75 per request.

Steps after submitting your deposit:

  1. After receiving your application and deposit, you will be sent an email confirming the receipt of your application
  2. We will then contact our local coordinators to check for availability for your selected project(s)
  3. If there is availability, we will book your project. An email will be sent confirming availability and asking you to submit the balance of your program fee and for you to complete your application by submitting your flight information a copy of your passport and your travel insurance information.
  4. You will receive your Volunteer Visions Handbook after you submit the balance of your program fee which details information regarding recommended vaccinations, visas, packing list, arrival pick up, emergency contact information and cultural information.
  5. At this point, you should have all your documents sent to us, your flight booked and a volunteer coordinator will be scheduled to greet you in your host country and get you settled into your program.
